A MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER

“The world of leisure is constantly evolving in an increasingly competitive environment. Adapting one’s offering, maintaining a high level of security, and seeking innovation are the vital missions of a modern manager, with one precise objective: creating positive emotions to foster brand loyalty in every customer present.
It is in this spirit that Play In Business was organized to best support the entrepreneurs of today and tomorrow. With over 30 years of experience, our team has been able to follow the changes in lifestyles and entertainment practices.

Thus, it is no longer enough for the product to be good; the customer ‘experience’ must also be excellent. The customer must be impressed by a magical atmosphere, a brand-new game, unique animations… in addition to a personalized welcome, clear and precise explanations, impeccable quality, and a maximum sense of security. Constant innovation is vital: offering new attractions, new themes, and new ideas.

This is why, beyond the product, we focus on the effects it must have on each user. The choice of activity, its decoration, its integration into the building, its visibility, player information, the training of supervisors and/or animators, and flow management are all points for which we provide experience and expertise.
And to better support each project, the training modules offered by Play In Business are open to all operators and team members who wish to provide the best possible experience to their clientele.

Winning the smile of every customer is our ultimate goal; contact us to discover these solutions.”

2014: The historic turning point for trampoline parks in France

While our core business initially focused on classic tubular playgrounds, a new market opened up to us in 2014. We were among the first manufacturers to introduce the trampoline park concept in France. This was a major turning point for the company.

At that time, everything had to be invented, including the safety rules! We were at the origin of the creation of the first French experimental standard for this type of activity; and thus became experts in trampoline park safety and trainers for supervisors and managers.

Trampoline parks evolved from the very first years: from a simple grouping of mats for free jumping, they moved to multi-activity: basketball, tumbling lanes, dodgeball areas, jump towers onto airbags, obstacle courses, interactive games, bounce courses, wipeout, ninja courses… jumpers have numerous activities at their disposal, for all ages, and can spend several hours at a trampoline park without getting bored.

2018: The second milestone, the era of multi-activity complexes

The indoor leisure market is evolving rapidly. In 2018, a second strategic turning point presented itself: the creation of complete leisure parks for the whole family. Our services are no longer limited to a single type of game; we now fit out the entire building.

The symbol of this evolution is the A-to-Z fit-out of the “Fun Space” complex in Sens. Trampolines, playgrounds, ninja courses, bar, reception desk, furniture… everything was thought out and designed from an empty building, in close collaboration with the investor. This ability to manage complete projects allows us to interact directly with the park’s profitability by proposing relevant activities, managing flows effectively, and optimizing operations.

French expertise exported beyond borders

While our roots are European, our expertise did not take long to be exported. The quality of the installations and our ability to deliver “turnkey” parks have attracted investors from all over the world, particularly in Africa. The first indoor playgrounds with a single entry fee in Morocco were thus established in 2015.

Today, Play In Business is proud to support the development of indoor leisure internationally. Our assembly teams regularly operate in Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal, and Ivory Coast. We also have a very strong connection with Reunion Island, where we designed and installed superb complexes such as Happy Kids and Happy Jump in St Pierre and St Leu.

In thirty years, we have seen the indoor leisure market be born, grow, and transform. These decades spent in the field, as managers and manufacturers, have allowed us to acquire a perfect understanding of the challenges of your profession. Safety, profitability, innovation, and support are not mere sales arguments for us: they are the true foundations of our company. This exceptional background has forged the major commitments that guarantee the success of your future complexes today.

Play In Business: Our success story, a leisure park creator like no other

Dive into our world with an exclusive interview with Bertrand Coulomb, the founder of Play In Business.

For over 30 years, Bertrand Coulomb has been working in the leisure industry. Since his beginnings at Big Bang Schtroumpf park (now Walygator Grand Est), he has remained in the amusement park sector, becoming a major player in the construction of leisure complexes through his company Play In Business. With one guiding principle: the constant pursuit of excellence.

Discover this interview here:

  • Can you tell us the story of Play In Business?

Bertrand Coulomb: Play In Business was founded in 2013 in Luxembourg, a country located in the heart of Western Europe, with excellent connections between capital cities. This company is the culmination of many years as a partner to European manufacturers. After collaborating with the largest manufacturers, installing hundreds of equipment pieces, regularly discussing with operators, and participating in the development of safety standards, I wanted to propose new ideas, greater theme and provide more efficient service to our clients.

We established partnerships with suppliers selected for the quality of their products, their service, their innovation, and their originality. We thus became manufacturers of our own play equipment.

  • What were the key stages in the growth and success over the years?

Bertrand Coulomb: One of the crucial stages was to stop being resellers and become manufacturers of play areas, enabling us to respond more effectively to our clients. We finally design the play equipment we want, with high-quality materials and advanced theming.

Then the evolution toward multi-activity allowed Play In Business to offer equipment beyond play areas, such as the trampoline parks that we also manufacture.

Aminata Ndao played a crucial role in this development. Coming from the French subsidiary Ludo et Cie, she was an enormous boost for Play In Business thanks to her responsiveness and extraordinary work capacity. She became the partner I had been waiting for.

  • What elements have contributed to making Play In Business a leader in the construction of indoor play areas and trampoline parks?

Bertrand Coulomb: I think our clients first appreciate the relationship we create with them. We share our experiences, listen to their expectations, spend time finding the perfectly adapted solution for the project, visit parks we have built together, and draw detailed 3D designs of the project to ensure perfect understanding.

Then, the quality-price ratio of our trampoline parks and our indoor play areas completes the convincing of our clients.

Of course, having operated a park for several years and participated in the development of safety standards also reinforces our credibility, and we maintain contact with our clients after their opening.

  • Could you share an example of an iconic project that has marked the history of Play In Business?

Bertrand Coulomb: Cosmic Jump is a striking example. It was our first large trampoline park (1,200 m2 of play equipment), installed in early 2018, with significant technical constraints and many activities such as dodge ball, half pipe, foam pit, and ninja course. The park was a success, and we then installed one of the largest modular play structures in France in the adjacent building for the same client!

  • Can you tell us about the innovations or new trends that Play In Business has introduced this year in its indoor play areas and trampoline parks?

Bertrand Coulomb: The arrival of the ISO EN23659 standard this year shook up the trampoline park industry somewhat, but it accelerated the professionalization of the sector. We place great importance on compliance with European standards, and we support operators to ensure optimal safety for jumper visitors and their own peace of mind.

Interactive games have also taken a prominent place at the expense of the free jump zone. Interactivity has truly become a must-have in trampoline parks, and Play In Business integrates several games into each project, such as Cardio Wall, Valo Jump, Freedom Gaming… Modular play structures are not left behind with interactive screens or the Talking Bag!

  • What are the upcoming projects for Play In Business for next year?

Bertrand Coulomb: We have developed a new range of pretend play equipment. With these games making a strong comeback in playgrounds, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity. In addition to our initial range of small play structures covering 2–3 m², we now offer role-play areas spanning 20–30 m² with plenty of interactive features. The first park to feature this range was Chibiotopia near Strasbourg, which has proved a huge success, and the brand is now expanding under licence.

We’ll be attending IAAPA in London in September 2026 – the attractions industry’s largest trade fair – to showcase this new range. This time, it’ll be the visitors who get to play like children!

As for our upcoming installations for 2027, our schedule is already packed. Stay tuned—we will discuss them soon.

  • In summary, how would you describe the results of the current year for Play In Business in terms of success, achievements, and future prospects?

Bertrand Coulomb: Despite challenges related to client financing, I consider that we have had an excellent year. Our clients are satisfied, the image of Play In Business is very strong, and our quality-price ratio remains excellent. We thank our clients for their trust and collaboration, and we remain available for future projects and park upgrades.

normes iso
Safety and standards Trampoline park

Your questions about our expertise and our journey

This experience comes directly from the heart of our team. Even before the Play In Business brand became the manufacturer known today, we were already in the field as a supplier and also as operators. For three decades, we have installed hundreds of indoor leisure parks, managed a park in France, welcomed millions of customers, and maintained our structures. It is this unique experience that allows us today to provide you with the most comprehensive and relevant advice.

When we installed the first trampoline parks in France in 2014, it was a completely new activity. There were no specific regulations. To guarantee user safety and operator peace of mind, we asked AFNOR, the French Standardization Association, to create a working group to develop regulations—a group in which we naturally participated, and which drafted the first standard in Europe, the French standard XP S52-370. It has been replaced today by the European standard ISO EN 23659, to which we also contributed. Safety is truly ingrained in our history.

Yes, absolutely! We don’t just deliver containers. We travel to meet you, visit the building, and organize the construction site. Our assembly teams then come to install the equipment on your site. Whether in Senegal, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Tunisia, or Reunion Island (where we notably installed the Happy Kids and Happy Jump parks), we guarantee the same quality of finish as in mainland France.

Not at all. We support individual investors and large groups with the same enthusiasm. Some will need more advice from the start, while others will want to move very quickly. Our support adapts to each project.

In three decades, the market has completely transformed! When we started, a large tubular structure with a few slides and a ball pit was enough to attract children. Today, family expectations have changed and competition is fierce. The quality of the decoration and the general atmosphere of the park are essential elements in the decision to visit.
The number of activities is also decisive. This is also why we took the turn toward trampoline parks in 2014 and hybrid complexes in 2018. Now, we integrate technology, interactive games, and LED lighting effects to also capture teenagers and young adults. Indoor leisure is no longer just for children; it has become global entertainment.

Operation is a profession in its own right, but it was precisely our own experience in the field that triggered a real realization. At the time we were managing our park, we noticed a severe lack of support. Suppliers at the time too often settled for being simple intermediaries or equipment sellers. There was a cruel lack of the “turnkey” project concept and the need to be supported and advised throughout the opening process.

It was to fill this void that Play In Business was created. We chose not to open other parks so as not to compete with our clients, and to devote ourselves 100% to our role as designer and manufacturer. Our goal today is clear: to offer you the global support (business plan, 3D design, installation, and training) that we lacked so much at our beginnings, to guarantee you a serene and profitable opening.
